Outreach and Ministries
St. Agnes Episcopal Church
Ongoing Donations to Area
Charities
- There are many
organizations that help people in
our communities, and so every
two months, St. Agnes asks
members to bring donations for
organizations such as: St. Marys
Food Bank; the Humane Society;
Citizens Against Personal, Sexual
and Emotional Abuse; and the
Guardian Angel Center.
Ministries - There are many ways in which to get involved and serve God
through the church.

Altar Guild - The altar guild's responsibilities encompass a broad range of
activities including all things related to the altar, supplies, candles and other
aspects of preparation for worship.
Coffee Hour - We take turns bringing great treats for all to enjoy as we
socialize after our service.
Flower Donation Organizing - Our altar flowers are  given in memory of
someone or in honor of a birthday, anniversary or other milestone.
Eucharistic Minister - The Eucharistic minister helps to lead the service
of Holy Eucharist by leading Psalm, prayers and the creed and by distributing the cup of
Holy Communion.
Lay Reader - Scripture is very important to our service, and lay readers help to impart
scripture by reading it to the congregation.
Acolyte - Acolytes participate in the worship service by carrying the cross, participating
in prayers and singing, assisting in table preparation and lighting and extinguishing
candles.
Social Coordinator - The social coordinator helps to ensure that there are food and
helpers for our social events by delegating responsibilities such as purchasing,
cooking, set up and clean up.
Vestry - The vestry is the lay governing body of the church, and vestry members
help to make certain decisions on behalf of the church.  They are also responsible for
the church's finances and building and grounds.
Property Beautification - Several times a year, we have property clean-up days to
ensure that the grounds are healthy.

Music Ministry - St. Agnes is blessed to have an organist and a guitarist/singer so
that we have organ accompaniment on Sundays and guitar accompaniment on
Saturdays.  We sometimes have guest musicians for services and host local Christian
praise groups and bands for evening programs.

Relay for Life -  The "St. Agnes Saints" participate in the area annual
Relay for Life, a benefit to help find a cure for cancer.  Each year, we find
creative ways to raise money for the cause - last year, we sold
cancer-emblem key chains.  This year, it's a raffle for magnificent baskets,
pony rides, "garden party" purchases and a garage sale.  And of course,
we walk.  And walk.  And have a great time!
Our youth and young adult
programs
include making
things for area need (such as
cards for people in senior
care facilities homes) and
also participating in ongoing
programs, such as an area
feeding program.
.
We sponsor
a
local
soccer
team
to help
ensure that
young
people can
pursue their
athletic
drives in
addition to
opportunities
through
school
programs.
We keep in our thoughts and hearts the men and women in
our
armed and assisting forces.  Please pray for them.
